DOI assignment
A Digital Object Identifier (DOI) is a unique and persistent identifier for digital objects such as scientific publications, data sets or other content. It enables reliable citation and retrieval of these objects in the digital space.
The assignment of DOIs for new primary publications (especially dissertations) in hohPublica ensures that they remain accessible in the long term and can be referenced internationally. The DOI ensures that each publication remains uniquely identifiable, even if the storage location or other metadata changes.
The DOIs generated in hohPublica always start with 10.60848/ and are followed by a serial number.
Advantages of DOIs
* Permanent findability: DOIs link directly to the current source, even if the location changes. * Increased visibility: Scholarly works with DOIs are more visible and prioritized in search engines. * Citability: The DOI is a standard in scholarly publications and facilitates the correct citation in bibliographies. * Linkability: DOIs can be linked to other digital resources, e.g. research data.
